The second weekend in August gathered students from Sweden, Denmark and the Czech Republic for the 4th annual training camp at Omberg. Handforms, Weapons, San Shou, Tui Shou, Nei Kung and Chi Kung was on the schedule in these beautiful surroundings.
Great emphasis was put on partner exercises / drills such as Da Lu – Eight Gates and Five Steps and Running Thunder Hands, moving from familiarity of the principle on to higher levels of skill when using it. We also dusted off the 4 Man-Handform, where one person does the Handform and 3 other people performs the applications simultaneously. This method is excellent for demos, but also increases the understanding of the relationship between Form – Application.
Spear, Sabre and Sword groups worked relentlessly despite the hot weather and scorching sun. Because Omberg is located at Sweden’s second largest lake – Lake Vättern – each workout was followed by refreshing swims.
During the San Shou sessions we put alot of stress on the right mindset and focus in fighting.
I would like to extend my gratitude to all participants from near and far. The numbers have been increasing each year and i look forward for a great training camp with even more participants next year!
